UVA took on South Carolina in the first round of the post-season NIT at U-Hall. Naturally, I went. Naturally, we lost. After that, we were all pretty much bummed out, and these are the activities that followed.

UNC @ UVA6 photos · Taken February 12, 2002On February 12, 2002, UNC visited U-Hall for the annual showdown between the Cavs and the Heels. It wasn't quite as heart-stopping and fantastic as the previous year's Valentine's Day win over Duke, but it was still a win, and it secured a sweep over the Tar Heels (they had beaten them in Chapel Hil earlier in the season already, 71-67).
Wake, FSU @ UVA14 photos · Taken January 20, 2002Right before the second semester of third year started, Lisa and I gathered a small group to hit up the Wake game. A week later, FSU visited UVA. The Noles aren't known for their basketball, so it was a good thing we won 91-74.
NC State @ UVA7 photos · Taken January 5, 2002The first game for the Cavs in 2002 was against the Wolfpack. We were ranked No. 6 at the time, but for some reason, we always have trouble with NC State at home... (we lost 81-74). I remember this marking the start of a very long downhill plunge.
