Albums from the year 2005

Xmas in Ohio38 photos · Taken December 23, 2005I tagged along for the Custis Family Christmas in Ohio for the first time in 2005, which was also my first time spending time in Ohio (minus driving through). I got to walk on some iced-over lakes, eat a lot of cookies, and watch some football.

Blackrock19 photos · Taken October 23, 2005Here are some snapshots from a day trip in the fall to the Shenandoah National Park, where we climbed the trail to Blackrock.

The Rolling Stones38 photos · Taken October 6, 2005On October 6, 2005, the Rolling Stones came to Charlottesville, played in Scott Stadium, and rocked the town. This was my first (and will probably be my only) super-big-concert-in-super-big-stadium. It was super awesome. The big story for this, though, was that a bomb threat came in the middle of the concert, when they turned on the lights and evacuated the entire front field section. Some media pictures (taken by professional press people, not taken by me) are included for awesomeness' sake.

Athens and Atlanta34 photos · Taken September 18, 2005Our friends' band The Broken Spokes had a show down in Atlanta, and their bass player Raphael couldn't make it. So Than filled in, and off we go to Hotlanta, again! We visited Athens and the University of Georgia, too, and we got to check out the swimming pool at GaTech leftover from the 1996 Olympics.

Birthday in NYC26 photos · Taken August 21, 2005For my 24th birthday, Than took me to NYC for a wonderful weekend. We took the Starlight Express up (and Jeff was the driver woohoo), stayed in a cute hotel with Jeff and Sarah, saw the broadway show Rent, and walked about the great city.

San Francisco13 photos · Taken August 10, 2005On behalf of Darden Business Publishing, I traveled to San Francisco for the American Accounting Association conference in early August of 2005. I got to catch up with Brenden, an old friend who I hadn't seen in a really long time. It was a pretty good thing that he works at Pixar, too - guess who got a tour!

Super Summer Storm22 photos · Taken July 9, 2005In early July of 2005, a mega afternoon storm blazed through Charlottesville and left behind a lot of damage. Here's a glimpse of what it looked like right after.

Blacksburg Mountain High12 photos · Taken June 29, 2005A few pictures of Bond and Monkey Knife Fight playing in the Blacksburg Mountain High ultimate tournament.

Dulles Air and Space Museum53 photos · Taken June 12, 2005Who knew that the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum put all the extra hangars at the Dulles airport? It was pretty cool.

Outer Banks Camping37 photos · Taken June 5, 2005In early June of 2005, Than and I went to Chapel Hill to see Spoon for the first time (awesome awesome), after which we camped in the Outer Banks with 10 other NC folk and had a blastin' time.

Memorial Day in Lexington21 photos · Taken May 30, 2005On Memorial Day weekend in 2005, Than and I took a short trip out to Lexington, VA to visit Jonathan and Teresa. We went on a 5 mile hike around the town, saw VMI, and ate some homemade ice cream (yummy!).

Guster @ UMD36 photos · Taken May 5, 2005I hadn't seen my favorite band Guster in awhile, and they were coming to University of Maryland, so Than and I took a trip to College Park for their Art Attack, where Guster was headlining.

New Years in Atlanta55 photos · Taken January 1, 2005For the holidays, Than and I drove down to Atlanta and visited high school buddies John and Raphael. We took a brief stop at Chapel Hill on the way, did all the touristy things you do in Atlanta (World of Coke, Underground, CNN Center, Fernbank, Stone Mountain...), played a bunch of Karaoke Revolution, and just hung out.
